Harrisville Memorials is a family-owned and operated business that designs and installs granite monuments and bronze memorials. We have a rich tradition of caring for the needs of other families. This tradition began in 1968 when Harold Jamison first established Harrisville Memorials to fill a local need.


The business then passed into the hands of Doug and Phyllis Matthews in 1982 and was moved to their home on Eau Claire Road. Our family then became the new owners in 1999, and we moved the business to its current location (111 Kern Lane, Harrisville, PA). 


Over the years, our monuments and memorials have been installed in cemeteries in Butler, Mercer, Lawrence, Venango, Armstrong, Beaver, and Clarion Counties. With literally hundreds of satisfied customers all over Western Pennsylvania, we at Harrisville Memorials continue to strive to provide high-quality, professional services to each family who chooses to visit our office.

Meet Our Family

My name is Jennifer, and I am who you will first meet in the office or on the phone. I am a teacher at heart, and I want to educate and guide each family that is looking for a memorial for their loved one.

To help me with the behind-the-scenes paperwork is our daughter, Morgan. Pictured with Morgan are her husband, Anthony, their daughter, Audrey, and son, Samuel.

Jim is in charge of the work in the cemeteries. From the installation of the concrete foundations, installation of the monuments, cleaning of monuments, and carving of death dates, Jim enjoys his work, but you will often hear him say, "I don’t want to do it twice." So you can be sure that his work will be done correctly the first time. Without Jim, I could not do what I have enjoyed doing these past 22 years.


Our son Mitchell, pictured here with his wife Lauren, has become Jim’s right-hand man. After completing college, Mitchell has joined us full-time. With his assistance, we have taken on in-house memorial designing and monument making. He is also important in helping and, in some cases, taking over some of the cemetery responsibilities.

We Understand Your Situation

Our business philosophy has never been one of monument sales as much as it has been about being there to lend a helping hand and a listening ear. My husband and I both have stories of loss, as do each of our employees.


We’ve been there, which is to say we’ve experienced grief in our own lives, and we hope that makes us more compassionate, caring people who are able to better serve the needs of our families. That’s part of the reason why Harrisville Memorials is unique in our industry. We focus on relationships and building connections with the families we work with.
